Vacation Home Sales Gain Momentum

Posted by on May 3, 2012 in Real Estate News | 0 comments

Sales of vacation homes are picking up as low prices pull buyers off the fence. The demographics of purchasers have begun to change during this uptick in the market as compared to the previous decade when people often headed out of state to buy vacation homes near resorts and areas that were tourist destinations including Orlando, Las Vegas, etc..

A survey by the National Association of Realtors found that the median distance between a purchaser’s primary residence and their vacation home declined 19 % to 305 miles in 2011 from 2010.

A survey in March by site operator HomeAway Inc. found that the most popular markets among vacationers this year are those that can be reached in a drive of four hours or less from home. That makes Summit County Colorado a great investment opportunity for the vacation home buyers who plan to rent their properties when they are not using them.

Colorado has a population of 5.1 million people all within a four hour drive of our Rocky Mountain playground. It is truely the best time to purchase real estate in Summit County, Colorado since 2002.

Beazer Books Surge In Home Sales

Posted by on May 3, 2012 in Featured Homes, Real Estate News | 0 comments

Beazer Homes USA Inc., an Atlanta based company and one of the largest home builders in the U.S. said it’s closings climbed 50 % in their fiscal 2nd quarter to 844 homes. New orders climbed 29% to 1512 homes.

The results come as the U.S. housing market has begun to show signs of emerging from the worst downturn in generations as buyers get back into the game. With several major homebuilders reporting increased sales and orders in recent weeks, industry watchers now think the sector is set for a rebound.
