Frisco Hosts Record Setting BBQ Fest

An estimated 33,000 people attended the Frisco Colorado BBQ Challenge during the mid June event, a 10 % increase over 2010 and individual food ticket sales increased 16 % over 2010 bringing in revenue of $ 464,708.
BBQ Challenge organizers added the Bacon Burner 10k this year attracting more than 300 runners and tallied nearly $ 6000 in registration fees. Thursday’s evening kickoff concert featured the Motet, drawing an estimated 4000 people dancing on Main Street.

Frisco Sales Tax Revenue Trending Up

At the end of March, Frisco Colorado’s sales tax collections increased for the second month in a row in 2012. Growth was 4.5 % over March 2011, following 7.3 % growth in February compared to the same month the year prior.
A bright spot is hotels and inns given the rough winter. That category has been growing in the 30 % range all year. Real estate investment fees are another bright spot in the town’s income. They’re up 30 % over 2011. Additionally revenue at the Frisco Adventure Park increased nearly 33 % over the first quarter of of 2011.

Frisco Colorado Building Activity Uptick

Frisco’s Planning Department is reviewing plans for several new larger development projects. Thursday they will be reviewing Larry Feldman’s application for his Condos Off Main development. He plans to construct 25 residential units and 3991 square feet of commercial development at the northeast corner of Granite and 4th Street.
The same meeting will hear out a development proposal for 12 long term rental units located in 3 seperate buildings on West Main Street. It is the first new development at that end of Main Street in roughly 2 years.

Frisco Colorado Sales Tax up 7 % in February 2012

Frisco’s sales tax collections grew more than 7 % in February as compared to the same month the prior year. The restaurant category performed better in February than January with growth of nearly 15 %. Tourism continues to strengthen.
