Closing Weekend at Breckenridge

Closing weekend at Breckenridge has arrived and snow continues to pour from the sky! A winter storm warning will remain in effect until Saturday at 6:00 PM with estimated snowfalls totaling one to three feet.  Breckenridge has already reported ten inches of accumulation in the last 48 hours with two more feet estimated to fall through Monday afternoon.  There are still 28 of 34 lifts open and 149 of 187 runs open.  The temperatures this weekend should remain below 30 degrees with strong guests of 20-30 mph winds.  Travel safely as closing weekend road conditions are slippery and enjoy the fresh powder this weekend on the slopes!

Festivities will take place on and off the mountain as Breckenridge Ski Resort celebrates the end to an amazing weekend. Looking for a snack on the mountain today?  The Closing Weekend Luau will take place on Peak 8 while food lasts.  The event is free for all guests and roasted pig will be available near the barbeque area at the Ski Hill Grill.  At 12:00 PM turn your focus towards Freeway and Park Lane for the Spring Fever Park Jams.  Watch as contestants throw out their best moves and tricks for closing weekend or join as a participant to win free season passes, GoPros and other prizes!

The Spring Fever Weekend Concert Series continues on from last weekend with new performers each day.  The America Authors, an alternative-rock group based out of Brooklyn, will perform on Saturday, April 18th.  The laid back, indie style vibes portrayed by this group will be a crowd pleaser for the entire family.  On Sunday, April 19th, the Infamous Stringdusters will take the stage with an acoustic foot stomping bluegrass sound. Both shows will begin at 2:00 PM and are free to the public.  Ski down to the base of Peak 8 to enjoy live shows each day or take a quiet gondola ride up the mountain after a day of Breckenridge shopping.
