The Town of Dillon was first established on January 26, 1883 as a stage-coach stop and trading post.  Since then, the Town of Dillon has moved three times; the last time in order to fill what is now the beloved Dillon Reservoir.  The town is now settled along the shores of its namesake lake.

With breathtaking mountain and lake views in every direction, and easy access to I-70 and all four ski resorts (Keystone, A-Basin, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain), it’s no wonder Dillon is such a popular town to reside in for locals and visitors alike!

Both the Town of Dillon and Dillon Ridge provide a variety of restaurants, shops and theaters (movie and live).  Lake Dillon Theatre provides cultural flair with its dramas, comedies and musical revues.  It has received national and international recognition for its award-winning and creative plays—a true treasure in Summit County.

The town of Dillon is home to approximately 904 year-round residents and offers a full-service community filled with excellent lodging and recreation.  While the town stays alive through all seasons, summers are truly magical in this water-front community.  On Fridays you will find the town bustling with the Farmer’s market and on weekend nights music floats from the lake-front amphitheater all around town.  Other popular activities include sailing and boating on Lake Dillon, guided nature hikes, biking on the paved bike path that connects throughout Summit County and grabbing friends and family to picnic and camp around the scenic lake while taking in the surrounding mountain vistas.

Two popular local breweries, The Dillon Dam brewery and Pug Ryan’s call Dillon home.  Both offer popular Colorado fare and delicious local brews with wonderful après ski deals, full dinner and lunch menus and lively weekend entertainment.  If you enjoy mouth-watering barbeque, Arapahoe Cafe is a favorite spot among locals.

Dillon is a true mountain town with an amazing location, breathtaking scenery and diverse outdoor and family recreation opportunities.  Whether you are looking for a condo, single-family home or new construction, Real Estate of the Summit is here to help you with all your real estate needs.  Have a question about the town or Dillon real estate?  Click here to contact us and we’ll be happy to help in any way we can!
