Winter Activities in Summit County
Skiing
Summit County is home to some of the most popular ski resorts in Colorado.Arapahoe Basin
Ask any local where the best terrain is, and they’ll probably tell you A-Basin. Add to that a huge expansion planned for the 2008 season, almost doubling the size of the resort. Due to its high elevation (13,050') and plentiful snowfall, it’s not uncommon to be able to ski here into June on an average snow year.Keystone
Three different mountains and over 2000 acres of terrain. From wide, gentle groomers, to gladed steeps, there’s something for everyone here. Night skiing is also available, so the fun doesn’t have to stop when the sun goes down.Breckenridge
With some of the highest lifted served terrain in North America, this is a true skiers’ playground. 2200 acres spread out over several mountains means you’ll never run out of new terrain to explore.Copper
Typically one of the first resorts to open for the season, Copper’s high elevation means lots of snow that sticks around for a long time. Newly revamped lifts and added snowmaking capabilities have made this an even better place to ski.Loveland
One of the highest resorts in the state, Loveland sits right on the continental divide, and offers endless acres of above tree line skiing.Snowmobiling
This is a great way to enjoy the winter landscape, with the added thrill of speed. There are several companies that offer snowmobile rentals in Summit County.High Country Tours
