First established on January 26, 1883 as a stage-coach stop and trading post. This town has moved 3 times, the last time in order to fill the reservoir. Dillon has now settled on the shore of its namesake lake. With broad views and quick access to Interstate 70 and all four ski resorts, the town is popular with locals and visitors alike.
Dillon is home to approximately 750 year round residents and offers a full-service community, filled with excellent lodging and recreation. Many of Dillon's residents and guests enjoy the mountain views and the most prized feature, Lake Dillon. Home to many sailing regattas, you will find most Sundays spent on the water enjoying the colorful sails of racing boats and water enthusiasts.
