Summit High School
Summit High School is the only high school serving Summit County and incorporates Frisco, Silverthorne, Dillon, Summit Cove, Copper Mountain , Keystone, and Breckenridge. Summit High School is located north of Breckenridge, approximately 75 miles west of Denver and 25 miles east of Vail. Approximately 850 students attend Summit High School . The high school offers a full selection of academic courses, including opportunities for students to earn college credit at Colorado Mountain College, AP honors classes, and an IB Diploma Program (IBDP) for grades 11 & 12. Elective courses and extra-curricular activities provide students with a well-rounded experience. There is also a variety of clubs, activities and sports, including a world class ski team. A new addition at Summit High School slated to be completed by August 2007 will house expanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities including a new Medical Prep program, a new video production studio, an expanded Culinary Arts program, and a community/commons area.
Summit Middle School
About 639 students attend the middle school. They offer a unique program called "On The Right Track" which encourages excellence through a variety of reward and recognition programs. An independent, private day school dedicated to building faith, growing virtue, and instilling a Christian worldview in the hearts and minds of their students. Solely supported by the parents of students, friends in the local community, and partners within the greater body of Christ who are committed to biblical principles of excellence in family, education, and government. SCCS was first founded in 1989 and has been a continuous member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) since 1995. SCCS has been an affiliate of the Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE) since 1999.
