Breckenridge Ullr Fest
January 6-11, 2008
This is a weeklong celebration for people who love snow and the winter. Ullr was the mythical Norse God of Snow, and the festivities include a parade down Main Street, live music, a Nordic event and the Ullympics.
Legend has it that in Ullr’s travels, he found Breckenridge, Colorado. Breckenridge seemed a likely place for Ullr to settle down, since he wasn’t looking to return to Norway any time soon. Ullr fit right in and took to the mountains. And every year, Ullr blesses Breckenridge with some of the finest snow in the world.
