SUMMIT COUNTY — Despite a lull in the national economy, ski resorts continue to be a popular Spring Break choice. The Breckenridge Resort Chamber reports area hotels are overflowing with reservations for the upcoming Easter week.
“For the week for March 15, everything in our inventory is booked,” said Carly Grimes with the Breckenridge Resort Chamber. “It’s pretty crazy the amount of reservations we have been getting, and we’ve gotten so many calls that we have actually had to start turning business away.”

Summit Reps Frown on I70 Tolls

SUMMIT COUNTY — Weeks after his initial Interstate 70 toll proposal, Denver Senator Chris Romer is at it again. The latest proposed bill, which will be introduced to the Senate later this month, would turn I-70 between Floyd Hill and the Eisenhower Tunnel into an HOV/toll road on Sundays throughout the year and during the peak weekend ski traffic hours during the winter.
