First established on January 26, 1883 as a stage-coach stop and trading post. The town of Dillon, CO has moved 3 times, the last time in order to fill the reservoir. Dillon has now settled on the shore of its namesake lake. With broad views and quick access to Interstate 70 and all four ski resorts, the town is popular with locals and visitors alike. Both the town of Dillon and Dillon Ridge provide a variety of restaurants, shops and theaters (movie and live). Lake Dillon Theatre provides cultural flair with its dramas, comedies and musical revues. And, the only bowling alley in Summit County sits in the heart of town.

Home to approximately 750 year round residents and offers a full-service community, filled with excellent lodging and recreation. Summer is Dillon’s season, as the town comes alive with Farmers Markets, free family concerts, nature night talks, live theater, boating at the marina and biking and hiking along the shoreline. Home to many sailing regattas, you will find most Sundays spent on the water enjoying the colorful sails of racing boats and water enthusiasts.
