Summit County Clean Up Day

Articles of clothing, missing items and lost trash are much more apparent during this time of the year after the snow has begun to melt. Volunteers across Summit County will gather tomorrow for the official town clean up day in Breckenridge, Frisco, Silverthorne and Dillon.

The traditional clean up day has continued for over two decades and hundreds of Summit County residents volunteer their time to maintain beautiful mountain surroundings. Unique items and money have also been a driving force for participation, as volunteers collect lost items that have been left behind in the snow!

All areas will meet tomorrow morning, Saturday, May 16th, at 9:00 AM in their respected towns. Each town has an assigned meeting location that will offer morning refreshments and treats before the day begins. Head back to the same location after clean up for afternoon picnics and prizes!

BRECKENRIDGE

Volunteer check-in will take place in the lawn at the Riverwalk Center.  Coordinators will distribute garbage bags, glove and directions for areas around town that need special attention.  Enjoy complimentary treats and coffee before departing for the day! Return to the Riverwalk Center around 12:00 PM for a barbeque lunch, live entertainment and special giveaways! For more information, contact Heather Peases at (970) 453-3187 ext. 3 or [email protected].

FRISCO

Clean up the streets of Frisco after meeting on Main Street between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue outside of the Frisco Historic Park and Museum. A check-in table will provide gloves, garbage bags, lunch tickets, beverage tickets and a door prize ticket. After spending time in an assigned area, return around noon for a picnic lunch, live music and amazing giveaways!  For more information, contact Nora Gilbertson at (970) 668-9132 or [email protected].

SILVERTHORNE

Join other volunteers at Rainbow Park on Saturday morning to receive your different area assignments. Make sure to bring a set of gloves for each member of your group and dress for the weather! A volunteer appreciation picnic will take place at 12:00 PM in the park. Don’t miss out! For more information, contact Nancy Bomgardner at (970) 262-7377 or [email protected].

DILLON
